The group comprising monks, who have come from Dharamsala to take part in the protests, students and activists, had initially planned to carry out their march at the India Gate, but they were barred from holding the protest there.
"We are shocked at being stopped like this. After all it is just a peaceful march. We just want to express our solidarity with our people back home who are suffering," said Yong Zom, a member of the protest group.
Chanting prayers and slogans, the group then carried out a three kilometre long march from India Gate to Jantar Mantar.
The group demanded that the Indian government should put pressure on China to stop the crackdown.
Expressing solidarity and support, a group member said the deadline by China will make matters worse as the voice of Tibetan people would never reach out to the international community.
Earlier today, around 60 Tibetans were detained as they attempted to storm the Chinese Embassy during an anti-China protest.
Police prevented their attempt to enter the embassy premises and took 60 of them into preventive custody.
Security in and around the Chinese Embassy here has been beefed up following a series of anti-China protests by Tibetans to express solidarity with their countrymen.
